Description of Significance THE DOG CREEK SCHOOL NEAR SHADY POINT WAS A WPA PROJECT CONSTRUCTED IN 1936. THIS SINGLE STORY RECTANGULAR BUILDING HAS A GABLED ROOF AND IS CLAD IN UNDRESSED AND ROUGHLY COURSED SANDSTONE. THE DOG CREEK SCHOOL IS UNUSUAL IN THAT IT IS ONE OF THE ONLY REMAINING ONE ROOM WPA SCHOOLS. LISTED IN NATIONAL REGISTER 9/8/1988.
